New Rollover Flat Bed Applicator Supercharges Signage Production at The Sign Bridge

Here at The Sign Bridge, High Peak’s leading signage company, we’re always looking for ways to improve quality, speed, and consistency for our customers. Thanks to support from the High Peak Borough Council & UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) Business Development Grant, we’ve invested in a Rollover flat bed applicator and it’s already transforming the way we produce signs and graphics.

Local Grant Support Making Growth Possible

We were awarded the UKSPF Business Development Grant by High Peak Borough Council, a scheme that helps local businesses invest in growth and productivity. With this support, and with our move into larger premises, we’ve been able to bring cutting-edge production capabilities in-house, creating a stronger and more resilient signage service for the High Peak and surrounding areas.

Growing Space, Growing Capacity

This investment comes at the perfect time. In July, we moved from our 800 sq. ft workshop to a brand-new 2,500 sq. ft premises in Whaley Bridge. The extra space has allowed us to expand our production area, install new machinery, and create a more efficient workflow.

The Rollover flat bed applicator is the centrepiece of this upgrade. With its 3m × 1.5m bed, it simply wouldn’t have been possible to operate effectively in our old space. Now, with room to grow, the machine can run at full capacity helping us to meet demand for larger projects and faster turnaround times.

More Efficient, More Consistent, More Competitive

By investing in this equipment, we can now offer:

  • Perfectly smooth finishes without bubbles or silvering

  • Consistent results across all products.

  • Improved value — less rework and waste means more competitive pricing

Why a Flat Bed Applicator Matters for Modern Signage

This state-of-the-art machine allows us to:

  • Mount vinyl, prints, and graphics onto panels with precision and speed

  • Apply application tape and laminates bubble-free and consistent every time

  • Reduce waste and improve safety for our team

  • Handle even the largest signage panels (up to 3 metres long) in a single pass

The Rollover saves up to 70% production time compared with traditional methods, and that means faster turnaround times for our clients.

One-Person Operation = Greater Productivity

One of the biggest benefits of the Rollover is its one-person operation.

Our Production Manager, Antony, can apply large graphics and laminates alone, freeing the rest of the team to keep other projects moving. This means a smoother workflow, reduced bottlenecks, and more projects completed in less time.

Moving into our new premises and bringing in the Rollover flat bed applicator has been a real game changer for us. It’s given the team the space and tools they need to work smarter, and it means we can get signs out quicker without losing the quality and service we’re proud of.

I’m really grateful for the support from the High Peak UKSPF Business Development Grant, it’s helped us take a big step forward, and we can’t wait to show our customers what we can do next.
