3D Built up and Flat Cut Letters and Logos
Probably the most requested signage solution there is. 3D letters give any sign that extra impact and can transform the look and feel of any sign when done correctly.
Flat cut letters.
Flat cut letters are a very cost effective way of adding a 3D element to a sign. These letters are cut from a flat piece of material which come in various type and thicknesses. The most common materials used are Aluminium composite, Steel, Acrylic and Foamex.
These letters can then be bonded direct to a substrate or stood proud on locators like shown in the photo. This gives that natural shadow behind the letter which creates that ‘3D’ look to the sign.
Built-up Letters.
The majority of 3D built up letters and logos are made from a stainless steel. What grade of steel used will be dependant on the geographical location of the sign.
Depending on size and design they can also be manufactured from an aluminium.
The most common finish on these letters is a brushed steel as shown in the photo however they also come in a mirror polish finish or can be powder coated to match a companies brand palette.
Built-up illuminated letters.
Built-up 3D letters and logos are a very popular signage solution especially on the high street for bars and restaurants. You also see large versions on stadiums and shopping centres.
They are generally built from steel, aluminium and acrylic and come in different depths. There a many different ways of illuminating these kinds of letters, the more popular specifications are HALO illuminated as shown in the photo and face illuminated.
3D Acrylic Letters.
Not as common as they once were but illuminated acrylic letters when manufactured well can be a real eye catcher. The main advantage of an acrylic letter over the above built up options is that the entire letter/logo can be illuminated, face and sides.
